Inside Sales Representative

Responsible for achieving sales results of various Smithers Quality Assessments (SQA) services within Industrial, Materials, and Energy market segments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing the sales process from initial client contact through to the start of delivery of work
  • Identifying target buyer personas and initiating contact through telephone sales, direct, e-mail, and social networking
  • Meeting daily and weekly outbound telephone activity metrics in support of lead generation and conversion-to-win goals
  • Entering, maintaining, and revising accurate A, B, and C funnel valuations
  • Coordination of client information to support operations-provided quotation for services as well as specific SQA client requirements to operations team
  • Attain a high-volume of leads while maintaining leads that are close to wins and confirmation of delivery dates
  • Utilize CRM for timely and visible pipelines
  • Develop B2B marketing tools to heighten SQA sales success
  • Achieve and maintain new and long-standing relationships with consultants, auditors, and other interested parties
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or technical school (including some sales or marketing concentration)
  • Minimum (3) years of customer sales service experience, including a combination of direct selling of services, cold calling, and B2B sales and marketing tools
  • Experience using CRM tools such as Salesforce, Infor CRM, Hubspot CRM, Microsoft Dynamics or similar database tools
  • Experience selling within or exposure to the Industrial, Materials, and Energy market segments, including but not limited to the industrial equipment, engineered components, metal, chemical, polymers, oil, and gas/renewable industries


Marketing experience in any customer sales campaign techniques

Commercial experience in larger scale B2B transactions (excess of 100K 1st-year revenue)

COMPUTER SKILLS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:

Contact Management Systems software

Internet software

Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel, with a working knowledge of additional Microsoft Office Suite software
