Digging into Quality

Bringing you information about SQA, Quality Management, and more.

December 12, 2013

As a part of Smithers Quality Assessments scope expansion to include International Accreditation Forum (IAF) 02 – Mining & Quarrying to our scope of services, we had the pleasure of auditing and certifying National Exploration, Wells & Pumps (EWP) to ISO 9001:2008 without design. National EWP is now one of the first exploratory drillers in the United States to obtain their ISO 9001:2008 certification.

SQA’s Lead Auditor Donnie Geon traveled to Arizona and California to conduct the certification audit.  Donnie reviewed the Corporate Operations, Support Site Services, and 1 Rig while in Gilbert, AZ. He reviewed Support Site Services out of the Montclair, CA Office and visited approximately 8 Rigs located around the Southern California (Los Angeles)

National EWP’s mission is to “align safety, experience, industry-best equipment and service to provide dependable, professional drilling services.” Their solid quality management system and ISO certification will aid National EWP in continuing to deliver excellent and safe service to their clients and employees.

With the dramatic growth in oil & natural gas extraction operations in the United States, particularly in the Midwest, we hope that other mining & quarrying companies will follow National EWP’s lead in ensuring that they have a healthy quality management system.
